H&M is coming to Oak Park Mall with its second area location.

H&M plans to open a 25,000-square-foot store on the lower level near Nordstrom this fall. It will have collections for the family as well as “store within a store” sections for accessories, lingerie, maternity and sportswear.

H&M has become one of the world’s hottest specialty stores by offering low-priced contemporary clothing for the family.

When it opened its first area store at 440 W. 47th St. on the Country Club Plaza in November 2011, lines stretched down the block and around the corner.

H&M has been in expansion mode, opening more than 300 stores a year with most of this year’s expansion to be in the U.S. and China. It now has more than 2,800 locations.
