Graffiti on overhead highway signs will create headaches for motorists in Kansas City, Kan., this week.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has decided to remove catwalks from signs over Interstates 70 and 670 on Wednesday and Thursday.

Eastbound I-70 will be closed at the I-70/670 split between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday and eastbound I-670 will be closed between 10 a.m. and noon Thursday.

Highway officials will not use marked detours. However, drivers will use eastbound I-670 while I-70 is closed and eastbound I-70 while I-670 is closed.

Highway officials provided the link to the photo below to show the vandalism.
