CHARLESTON, Mo. | A former southeast Missouri pastor has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for molesting children in his congregation.

The Sikeston Standard Democrat reports that 36-year-old Kenneth Neal Allen pleaded guilty and was sentenced last month on two counts of first-degree child molestation.

Allen was formerly pastor of Grace Apostolic Church in East Prairie. He was arrested in May, accused of inviting children into his home and molesting them. Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore said Allen used his position as a leader in the church to gain the trust of the victims and their parents.
