A 4-year-old Kansas City boy wounded in a drive-by shooting last Saturday has died after being taken off life support.

Police said the death of Aydan Perea has been ruled a homicide.

Aydan was shot last Saturday night while sitting in a parked car outside a house in the 2400 block of Denver Avenue with his father and two other men, police said.

An 18-year-old man in the driver’s seat was injured.

The men told police a car stopped behind them and an occupant of that car opened fire as they tried to duck. Aydan was in a car seat in the back seat, police said.

It was the second time the boy had been involved in a shooting. He was inside a house in the 2400 block of Oakley Avenue last year when a gunman fired four shotgun blasts into the residence. No one was hurt in that incident.

Anyone with information about the killing of the boy is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
