A man in a red Ford rammed a Kansas City Police patrol car and then led a high-speed chase that lasted about half an hour and snaked through both sides of the state line Sunday night.

Kansas City police had pulled over the driver at about 9:30 p.m. at 33rd Street and Cleveland Avenue on a traffic violation. There also was a male passenger in the car.

The driver then rammed the police car head on, police said. The officer was not injured.

The car, with its lights out, reached speeds of 100 mph on Interstate 70 into Kansas City, Kan., drove across a residential yard and headed north on Interstates 435 and I-29. He had turned around and headed south on I-29 before pulling off the highway.

Police arrested at least one suspect when the chase ended near a strip mall at 104th Street and Interstate 29 in the Northland.
