The principal of Platte County High School resigned this week after he was arrested during a prostitution sting in Kansas City.
Patrick N. Martin, 37, received a misdemeanor citation. Police said they arrested Martin after he responded to an Internet ad soliciting a date. Martin allegedly called and talked to a female detective who was posing as a prostitute, according to KCTV, the Star’s reporting partner.
KCTV reported that the two met at the Sleep Inn at 7611 N.W. 97th Terrace in Kansas City, North, and that Martin agreed to pay $150 for sex acts. He was arrested moments later.
Martin resigned on Monday, citing personal reasons, said Superintendent Mike Reik. Alan Burch, who has served as assistant principal, was named interim principal.
Martin had served as principal for several months, Reik said.
