One man was killed Friday morning in a one-car crash in Kansas City’s old Northeast area.
Kansas City police said the crash occurred shortly before 5 a.m. at Independence and Fuller avenues.
The victim was driving east on Independence when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and collided with a wooden utility pole, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
It was the 49th traffic fatality in Kansas City this year.
