Police this afternoon entered a central Kansas City house that they had surrounded for several hours after a shooting, but found no one inside.
Officers had initiated an Operation 100 about 10:45 a.m. after a gunman shot a man and possibly retreated to the house. Police also searched the neighborhood in case the gunman had not gone inside.
After the shooting, emergency workers got the wounded man into an ambulance as police provided cover near 30th Street and Woodland Avenue. The victim’s injuries reportedly were not life-threatening.
Police entered the home shortly before 1 p.m.
