A man arrested shortly after an Overland Park bank holdup this morning has been charged in federal court with bank robbery.
The suspect, identified in court documents as 23-year-old Xzavier Stewart, is accused of robbing the Bank of the West at 9400 Antioch Road shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.
A witness provided police with a description of the robber’s getaway vehicle. Overland Park officers spotted it shortly afterward, according to court documents. After a brief chase, the suspect pulled over and was arrested at U.S. 69 and 87th Street.
About $2,500 — the approximate amount stolen — was found in the car as well as clothing that matched that worn by the robber, according to the court documents.
