Lee’s Summit officials have amended the city’s watering ban to allow water customers to use lawn sprinklers and irrigation systems every other day, the city announced this afternoon.
“This ongoing measure is necessary in order to ensure an adequate balance is maintained between water demands and water storage levels during this period of high temperatures and drought-like conditions,” the city said in a statement posted on its website.
Customers with even-numbered addresses may water lawns on even-numbered calendar days, the notice said. Customers with odd-numbered addresses may use lawn sprinklers and irrigation systems on odd-numbered days.
Everyone may use watering cans or hand-held hoses on all days, the notice said. People also may wash their cars, run fountains and fill pools.
