Joanna Harbison is new to the area and wonders about the unusual overhead street sign that northbound Nall Avenue drivers see as they approach 95th Street in Johnson County.
It’s blue and white with “a sort of round, flower-shaped” design, the Overland Park resident said.
“Since most street signs are green, what does this mean?”The answer
That’s an easy one, Joanna. These are the standard street signs used throughout Prairie Village, which abuts Overland Park at that corner. You’ll see smaller versions on the city’s residential streets.
And the flower-like design on the left of the signs?
It’s part of the city logo, which Public Works Director Bruce McNabb described as the “prairie star.”
Prairie star? Why that, The Watchdog says, would be KU basketball coach Bill Self.
