A Blue Springs youth soccer coach already accused of molesting two girls under age 14 is now charged with sodomy in a third case.
Richard G. Burroughs, 43, remains in the Jackson County jail.
Last week he was charged with putting his hand down a girl’s pants and rubbing his hand on another girl’s front.
On Friday, Burroughs was charged with statutory sodomy and child molestation involving another girl, age 12 at the time, who did not know the other two girls.
According to the probable cause statement filed in court sometime in late 2010 or early 2011, Burroughs went to the house of family friends in Blue Springs to drop off, he said, a DVD. The girl said she was alone at home and she had the feeling that Burroughs knew that. The girl said Burroughs asked her to sit on his lap and then placed his hands up her shirt and down her pants.
Before leaving, the court documents said, he allegedly told the girl, “Let’s just keep this between us,” and asked her to give him a hug.
The girl reported the encounter after seeing Burroughs on the news. Her mother told police that their family had been good friends with the Burroughs family for at least 10 years. She said her family had invited the Burroughs family to their lake house on several occasions and to family functions.
