Members of the public turned out Saturday to meet the three finalists for the Shawnee Mission school superintendent job.
About 100 people were present for the first Saturday morning meet-and-greet with Michael Fulton, who is superintendent of the Pattonville School District in suburban St. Louis.
About 70 people were present for the 11 a.m. meeting with Blane McCann, superintendent of the Westside Community Schools in Omaha, Nebraska.
The third session was scheduled for 1 p.m. with Michael Muñoz, superintendent of Rochester, Minn. Public Schools.
The sessions were being held in the boardroom of the Center for Academic Achievement, 8200 W. 71st St. in Overland Park.
Community members attending the Saturday sessions were also invited to leave written comments about the candidates if they wished.
After the community sessions, board members were to interview each candidate for a second time in closed executive sessions.
