    Kansas City firefighters responded to a house fire Wednesday afternoon where two people and a dog were able to safely escape flames which consumed much of the home near 85th and Main Streets in Kansas City. Battalion Chief Charles Kirchner of the Kansas City Fire Department said his highly trained crew made quick work of the fire, which remains under investigation. Video by Tammy Ljungblad/The Star.
