An 80-year-old Kansas woman was killed and her 82-year-old husband was seriously injured in a Sunday afternoon traffic crash in Olathe.
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the woman as Grace W. Tunks of Bucyrus.
According to the patrol, Tunks was a passenger in a 2005 Ford Taurus that was being driven by her husband, Derwin Tunks.
He was taken to a hospital after the wreck and was in intensive care Sunday night, according to relatives.

The Ford was eastbound on 151st Street when it “failed to yield” and collided with a pickup truck driven by a 21-year-old Olathe man collided at the intersection with Ridgeview Road, according to the highway patrol report.
The Ford then collided with a third vehicle. The drivers and occupants of the other vehicles were not injured, according to the patrol.
The Tunks were active members of the Nazarene Church and had taken missionary trips to South America when they were younger, according to Norma Tunks, who is married to Derwin Tunks’ brother.
The couple had gone to church earlier Sunday and were on their way home when the wreck occurred, according to her brother-in-law, Delbert Tunks.
Grace Tunks had worked for an insurance company before she retired. The couple had no children, but had numerous nieces and nephews, according to Norma Tunks.
