Enjoy the “warmer” temperatures in the low 40s while you can, Kansas City. A cold front will move through the area later Monday night, sending temperatures tumbling for much of the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo.
The morning temperatures on Tuesday are expected to fall to the lower 20s. But the wind will make if feel closer to 10 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to remain 10 to 15 degrees below normal through Thursday, with highs reaching the mid-20s to near 30 degrees each day.
Temperatures are expected to climb to the upper 30s to near 40s Friday. But there’s a chance for a wintry mix of precipitation on Friday into Saturday, mainly north of Interstate 70.
Light snow is possible, but little if any accumulation is expected, according to the National Weather Service.
