Slick roads caused multiple accidents in Lee’s Summit and other areas near eastern Jackson County on Wednesday afternoon.
The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated several weather-related accidents in Lee’s Summit.
Accidents were reported at Intestate 470 and Pryor Road, I-470 and Douglas Road, and I-470 and Colbern Road.
Lee’s Summit police investigated a two-vehicle wreck on westbound U.S. 50 at Third Street about 4:20 p.m., then a separate two-vehicle wreck about 10 minutes later near the same location.
A multivehicle wreck was also reported about 4:20 p.m. on eastbound Missouri 350 at Interstate 435 near the Raytown-Kansas City border.
A separate wreck about the same time shut down westbound Missouri 350 at I-435.
Another accident about 5:15 p.m. shut down the exit ramp from northbound I-435 to Blue Parkway.
Snowfall on Wednesday has made area roads dangerously slick.
