Race for the Cure to temporarily close streets in KC’s downtown, Crossroads area

Streets in Kansas City’s downtown and Crossroads area will be closed Sunday morning for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure.

Kansas City sent out a traffic advisory saying drivers should expect street closures from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

The city urged drivers to use caution and follow posted detours, barricades and “No Parking” signs. Police will allow motorists to cross the route when it’s safe for race participants.

Streets that will temporarily close:

Grand Boulevard: Between Pershing Road and 18th Street.

18th Street: Between Grand and Oak Street.

Oak Street: Between 18th and 11th streets.

11th Street: Between Oak and Walnut streets.

Walnut Street: Between 11th and 14th streets.

14th Street: Between Walnut and Wyandotte streets.

Wyandotte Street: Between 14th and 16th streets.

16th Street: Between Wyandotte and Broadway.

Broadway/West Pennway Street: Between 16th and Pershing Road.

Pershing Road: Between West Pennway and Grand.

Southwest Boulevard: Between 20th Street and Broadway.

20th Street: Between Southwest Boulevard and Main Street.

Main Street: Between 20th and Pershing Road.
