A 65-year-old woman died as the result of a head-on collision Saturday morning on Barry Road in the Northland, police said.
According to the Kansas City police report, a tan Kia Soul driven by Regina Blair of Kansas City was traveling westbound on Northwest Barry Road about 11:30 a.m. Witnesses said the driver was having trouble keeping the vehicle on the roadway. The driver ran off the road several times and twice struck signs on the north side of the roadway but kept going.
Just before North Chariton Avenue, the driver crossed over the roadway’s center line and struck a white Chevy Silverado pickup head-on.
Blair was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A family — parents and two children — were in the pickup truck. They were all taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
