For the 22nd time in 23 years, The Kansas City Star was a top finisher in the Missouri Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest.
The Star was named the Gold Cup newspaper for large daily newspapers at the association’s annual convention in Branson over the weekend.
The newspaper won 18 first-place awards in the contest.
The Star won first-place awards in the contest for front page, breaking news story, editorial pages, sports news story or package, news or feature special section, and local business coverage.
