Crowded race for U.S. Senate in Kansas alters political algebra

Democrat Chad Taylor’s path to upsetting the longtime incumbent Republican, Pat Roberts, is complicated by the well-financed campaign of independent candidate Greg Orman. It wasn’t supposed to be this way for Roberts, who was once a prohibitive favorite for re-election and remains a weak favorite despite a less-than-stellar victory in a brutal GOP primary.
