KC area job growth pales in comparison with many metro areas

Area employers had about 2,200 more workers on their payrolls in June 2014 than June 2013, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said. The Kansas City area’s unemployment rate for June was estimated at 6.3 percent, up from 6.1 percent in May but down from 6.6 percent in June 2013.
