KC Chamber event to celebrate workplace diversity

The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City on July 29 will honor three area workers for promoting cultural diversity in the workplace.

The three recipients of the chamber’s Ace Award will be recognized by the organization at its Power of Diversity breakfast at the Westin Crown Center Hotel. The program runs from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The award recipients:

Joyce Christanio, senior manager supplier diversity, Sprint Corp.

Kymberly Lewis, labor and employee relations, City of Kansas City.

Edgar Palacios, manager, community engagement and performance, Central Exchange.

The chamber will also hand out its Champion of Diversity award to J.E. Dunn Construction Co., in recognition of its efforts to embrace diversity in the workforce, management structure, board of directors, company culture and in the Kansas City community at large.

The program will feature a panel discussion on the state of diversity in Kansas City.

Tickets are $40 for chamber members, $55 for non-members.
