UPS to hire 600 seasonal employees in Kansas City area

UPS said it was seeking to hire 600 holiday-season employees in the Kansas City area to handle increased package shipments.

The company said most of the positions are for driver helpers, who ride in UPS trucks with drivers. UPS also has some openings in the area for package sorters and handlers.

UPS said the seasonal jobs will pay an hourly rate of $12.88.

The company has about 4,000 employees in the Kansas City area.

Nationwide, UPS said it expected to hire about 55,000 seasonal employees to help out through the end of this year.
