Local CWA contract signed

About 20 telecommunications workers represented by Communications Workers of America Local 6360 in Kansas City have reached a three-year collective bargaining agreement with Lan-Tel Communications and Underground Services.

The Lan-Tel employees, who install outside plant communication cable and equipment, will get annual pay increases, employer-provided healthcare coverage, seniority recognition and job security language under the contract.

Pay raises will be 1 1/2 percent for the year beginning Oct. 1, 2013, 1 percent for the second year, and 1 percent for the third year of the contract.They have been represented by CWA since 2000.
