Southwest Airlines is widening its seats

Travelers used to overcoziness in coach will get some of the widest seats on U.S. single-aisle planes – 17.8 inches (45.2 centimeters) instead of 17.2 inches now. Slimmer frames create additional sitting space in each row, chief operating officer Mike Van de Ven said.
