The University of Kansas Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital have been named to the U.S. News & World Report list of best regional hospitals for 2016.
The report listed 11 specialty programs at KU Hospital and four at St. Luke’s as being among the best in the nation. The magazine gives rankings in 16 medical specialties.
The top-rated programs at KU: geriatrics (13th out of the 50 best in the nation); urology (17th); neurology and neurosurgery (22nd); cancer (25th); pulmonology (28th); ear, nose and throat (31st); diabetes and endocrinology (33rd); gastroenterology and GI surgery (35th); orthopedics (35th); gynecology (38th) and cardiology and heart surgery (tied for 38th).
The top-rated programs at St. Luke’s: gynecology (19th best in the nation); cardiology and heart surgery (20th); pulmonology (38th) and gastroenterology and GI surgery (50th).
