After more than a decade of operations, Elephant Bar Restaurant is closing in Overland Park.

The restaurant, at 11900 Metcalf Ave., will close later this month, according to company spokeswoman Leslie Liberatore.

“There’s just not enough traffic at that location to sustain the business,” she said.

Elephant Bar promised a “taste of safari” in the decor and elephant-sized portions when it opened in late 2003.

It currently has 33 employees.
