Houlihan’s demolished an Overland Park T.G.I. Friday’s to put up a new Houlihan’s on the site.

Now McDonald’s will demolish the old Houlihan’s building and put up a new McDonald’s.

The new McDonald’s, in the Quivira 95 Shops at 11600 W. 95th St. across from Oak Park Mall, is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter. At 5,343 square feet it will be much smaller than the 9,300-square-foot former Houlihan’s and it will have a double drive-through.

Houlihan’s operated in the freestanding building for about 27 years before moving across 95th Street to open in a smaller freestanding building at 11851 W. 95th St.

The old restaurant closed in late August 2013 and the new one opened on the Oak Park Mall site in September 2013.

McDonald’s has a Lenexa restaurant, just about 1.2 miles from the Quivira 95 Shops site but there are no current plans to close that location when the new McDonald’s opens.
