The southwest corner of 39th Street and Southwest Trafficway will soon be home to more commercial tenants.

The owner of the complex is opening up the west side of the building at 809 W. 39th St. Up to five new storefronts will be available in the renovated section with entryways facing the parking lot. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by May.

“The owner is wanting to provide small spaces for a tax service or hair salon, or a larger space for a music studio, coffee shop, small take-out restaurant,” said Michelle Herman of Block Real Estate Services Inc., leasing agent for the property.

Current tenants on the corner include Sosa’s 39th Street Diner and Missie B’s bar.

About 41,000 cars pass by each weekday on Southwest Trafficway.
