Florida-based BurgerFi opening Lawrence, Leawood restaurants

Josh and Michelle Kurzban plan to open a BurgerFi at 918 Massachusetts in mid-spring. Chutney’s Indian Diner & Bar previously operated in the space. The Kurzbans also are opening a BurgerFi in Leawood’s Park Place in late April or early May.

The new area franchisees for BurgerFi are planning a Lawrence location.

Josh and Michelle Kurzban said they will open a BurgerFi at 918 Massachusetts in mid-spring.

Chutney’s Indian Diner & Bar formerly operated in the space.

The Kurzbans also are opening a BurgerFi in Leawood’s Park Place, 11635 Ash St., in late April or early May.

BurgerFi, based in Palm Beach, Fla., offers burgers made with all-natural grass-fed beef (meaning free range, no growth hormones, no antibiotics, and never frozen).

The menu includes Angus burgers, brisket burgers with 28-day dry-aged ground brisket, veggie burgers made with quinoa, Kobe beef hotdogs, craft beers, wine, and frozen custard and frozen concretes made with cane sugar.

The restaurants are environmentally friendly with chairs made from recycled Coke bottles and tables made out of compressed recycled wood.

BurgerFi also will be a Sporting Kansas City sponsor.
