The Northland’s The Village at Shoal Creek has signed its first tenant.

Cheddar’s casual cafe plans a late 2013 or early 2014 opening in the center, at Missouri 152 and North Booth Avenue, across from the Shoal Creek Golf Course. Cheddar’s will build an 8,000-square-foot freestanding restaurant.

Construction on the 125,000-square-foot Shoal Creek center is scheduled to start in mid-2014 for an opening in late 2014 or early 2015. A specialty grocery store is planned as an anchor tenant. Other tenants could include home decor and apparel stores.

David Hickman and Adam Lyngar of CBRE are brokers for the center.
