Cocoa Dolce Artisan Chocolates plans to open a new store in Prairiefire, an upscale center under development at 135th Street and Nall Avenue.

The 1,800-square-foot store is scheduled to open in March 2014.

Cocoa Dolce Artisan Chocolates was founded by master chocolatier Beth Tully in 2005 and currently has one store in Wichita. It specializes in preservative-free, handmade confections in unique designs, including its signature Cinnamon Orange Chocolate (which is 57 percent bittersweet, organic, orange-infused ganache flavored with fresh orange zest and Cassia cinnamon). Other menu items include macarons, gelato, and coffees. The Wichita store also does wine and chocolate pairings. At the new Overland Park store, it also may add cheese pairings to the list.

Tully said she choose Prairiefire because it was another upscale development like her store in Bradley Fair in Wichita and provided an opportunity in a larger market.

“I’ve always loved that area. We have family there so it has a great sort of hometown feel for us,” she said.
