Update: The health department said it expected the four McDonald's to reopen by Friday night.
McDonald's has temporarily shut down four of its south Kansas City locations.
A sign on the location at 8326 Wornall Road says: "Due to an administrative error, three of our locations are temporarily closed. We were alerted by the KCMO Health Department that a required permit, which we had on file at our organization's office, should have been posted inside three of our restaurants. … We would like to emphasis (sic) to our loyal patrons that this is not a food safety issue. This was an administrative error."
According to the health department, locations at 6406 Troost Ave., 1300 W. 103rd St., and 13301 State Line Road are temporarily closed.

In a statement, the franchisee said: "We are working closely with the Kansas City Health Department to reopen our restaurants as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers."
A spokesman with the health department said the investigation is ongoing and they are unable to provide further information until it is complete."
