The Planned Industrial Expansion Authority awarded tax abatement Thursday to two more buildings in the Crossroads Arts District that are being redeveloped by Shirley Helzberg.
A building at 1700 Wyandotte St. was approved for a 10-year, 100 percent abatement, and a building at 1706-10 Wyandotte St. was approved for a 10-year, 100 percent abatement and a 5-year, 50 percent abatement after the 10-year abatement sunsets.
Helzberg will seek tenants for the renovated buildings after she invests an expected $4.6 million in the projects.
The properties are in the neighborhood known as Film Row and are near her seminal Crossroads project, the Webster School renovation at 1644 Wyandotte St. She also has rehabilitated buildings at 1703 Wyandotte St. and 1706 Baltimore Ave. Helzberg has renovated seven structures in the area.
