First Federal names new president

J. R. Buckner heads the savings bank after the retirement of Clarence Zugelter, who remains on the bank’s board of directors.

First Federal Bank has named J. R. Buckner as its president and chief executive officer following the retirement of Clarence Zugelter.

Zugelter, who has been with the bank for 43 years, remains chairman of its board of directors.

Buckner, who joined the savings bank in 2012, has improved technology and training at First Federal. The institution has $350 million in assets and operates six Missouri branches in the Kansas City area and a mortgage office in Overland Park.
