The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation today said that Jeannine Strandjord has been elected to the board of trustees.
Strandjord, who retired from Sprint in 2005 as senior vice president and chief integration officer, has been a business and civic leader in the Kansas City community for many years.
Kauffman Foundation board chairman Thomas McDonnell said in prepared remarks that Strandjord brings a wealth of corporate and nonprofit knowledge to the board.
Before her 20-year career at Sprint, Strandjord held senior financial positions with a division of Macy’s and with Kansas City Power & Light Co. Her career began as an auditor with Ernst & Ernst.
She also serves on the corporate boards of American Century Mutual Funds, DST Systems Inc., Euronet Worldwide, and J.E. Dunn Construction.
Her current and past nonprofit board experience includes the Heartland Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, KU Medical Center Research Institute, and Rockhurst University.
