Rockhurst University will honor four alumni on Sept. 20 for achievements in their professional lives and commitment to public service.
The alumni being recognized at the annual Alumni Awards Luncheon are James R. Owens Jr. and Pasquale Trozzolo, who will both receive the St. Ignatius Award; Betsy Vander Velde, who will receive the Xavier Medal of Honor; and Patrick Wank, who will receive the Faber Young Alumni Award.
Owens, a 1972 graduate, has worked in the public and private sector, including the U.S. Public Health Service and AIG.
Trozzolo, who graduated in 1975, is the founder and executive chairman of Trozzolo Communications Group in Kansas City.
Vander Velde, who earned an executive MBA in 1988, has served as president and chief executive of the Family Conservancy, an area family services provider, since 1994.
Wank, a 2005 graduate who earned an MBA in 2006, is a project accounting manager at Black & Veatch.
The four will be honored during Rockhurst’s annual family and alumni weekend.
