Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. is expanding into the Chicago area through a merger with a 25-attorney law firm.
Kansas City-based Shook, one of the area’s largest law firms, said it is combining with Grippo & Elden L.L.C. The combination becomes official on March 1. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Grippo & Elden was founded in 1988 and specializes in business and commercial litigation, including antitrust, class actions, employment and labor, and breach of contract.
Chicago marks the fourth new city for Shook over the past three years, following Philadelphia in 2012, Seattle in 2013, and Denver last year. The law firm now has 13 offices, including two in Europe.
