In a survey, credit managers display less optimism

A survey of companies’ credit managers suggested weaker but continued economic growth ahead, according to the National Association of Credit Management. It is, however, the second time in three months that the trend has been toward a weaker future.

Toyota Motor Corp. recalled more than 40,000 vehicles in Japan on Thursday as part of a worldwide scare over defective air bags and officials are investigating a new type of air bag problem that could lead to further recalls.
