Leawood payday lender Scott Tucker files appeal to overturn $1.26 billion fine

Scott Tucker, the professional race car driver from Kansas City who made his fortune in payday lending, filed a 110-page brief pointing out flaws in a judge’s decision that sided with the Federal Trade Commission’s request for a $1.26 billion fine against the businessman. It seeks to overturn the record-setting fine, or send the case back to district court for further proceedings.

The Airlander 10 hybrid airship took its maiden flight over Bedfordshire, England, on Wednesday night. The helium-filled craft was a project first being developed by the U.S. government before it was shutdown and later resurrected by the British firm Hybrid Air Vehicles.
