The 10th Judicial District Judicial Nominating Commission today recommended three attorneys to fill the Johnson County judicial opening created by the retirement of Judge Janice Russell.
Nominees are David Wesley Hauber of Shawnee, a partner at Baty, Holm and Numrich P.C. in Kansas City; Robert J. Bjerg of Lake Quivira, who is in private practice in Leawood; and Hon. James Phelan of Overland Park, a magistrate judge in the 10th Judicial District.
The three nominees were chosen from eleven finalists interviewed today. Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has 30 days to select one.
