A 4-year-old boy riding his bike died this evening after being run over by a truck in Blue Springs.</p><p>The accident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. on a private drive near 9th Street and Robin Circle, in the Villas of Autumn Bend neighborhood, Blue Springs Detective Jeremy Dickstein said.</p><p>The Rent-A-Center truck was traveling at very slow speeds when it struck and ran over the boy, who was riding his bike about four doors down from his home, Dickstein said. They boy was dead when emergency crews arrived.</p><p>Dickstein described the death as a &#8220;tragic accident.&#8221;</p><p>Following routine procedure, the truck driver was taken to police headquarters for questions, Dickstein said. However, he said, police have no reason to think the driver was impaired or that any criminal action was involved.</p><p>Police did not release the child&#8217;s name tonight.
