Police seek help after 7-Eleven robbed in Lee’s Summit

Police are trying to identify a man who robbed a Lee’s Summit convenience store overnight.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m., police were called the 7-Eleven store at 909 S.W. Oldham Parkway. A clerk reported that a man armed with a handgun had robbed the store. The clerk said the man, about 6 feet tall, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black ball cap and pulled the gun from his waistband.

A customer reported seeing a blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo leave the area at a high rate of speed, heading north on Ward Road. The customer was gone when police arrived.

Police want to speak with that customer and anyone who can identify the suspect captured on video surveillance. Those with information are asked to call the Lee’s Summit Police Department at 816-969-1720 and ask to speak with a detective.
