Kansas City police are investigating the latest homicide which occurred overnight outside the Renaissance West addiction treatment facility at 5840 Swope Parkway.
A man, who police said was an employee there, was shot to death around 12:50 a.m. this morning after he went outside to smoke a cigarette. Police identified him as Napoleon Malone, 26.
No suspects are in custody.
Police spokesman Sgt. Anthony Sanders said the man was confronted by three males who were wearing hooded jackets and were on foot. There was an exchange of words and then shots were fired.
