More News

ST. LOUIS | A county commissioner from eastern Missouri is facing drug charges.

Lincoln County Commissioner Matthew Bass has been charged with two felony counts of drug possession. The sheriff's department said Friday that Bass bought the prescription painkillers morphine and fentanyl from an informant on Wednesday in the parking lot of a Troy business, and was arrested immediately.

Bass was released from jail on Friday after posting $20,000 cash-only bail.

Bass is a 45-year-old Republican elected to the commission in November 2008. Phone messages left for him were not returned.
