KC homicide victim identified

Police today identified a man shot to death in south Kansas City Wednesday afternoon as Maurice West, 20, of Kansas City.

West was walking down the street near 116th Street and Holiday Drive about 4 p.m. with a friend when two men confronted and argued with them. At least one suspect shot at West, who collapsed in the street.

The suspects ran. Police surrounded a house on Longview Road but did not find the suspects.
