Shooting death reported in south KC

Kansas City police are investigating a shooting death that occurred after an exchange of words near 116th Street and Holiday Drive in south Kansas City.

The shooting was reported about 4 p.m.

Police said two men were walking in the area when two other males approached them. Shots were fired soon after.

The victim, in his late teens or early twenties, was dead when police arrived.

Witnesses told police the two suspects ran north and police are investigating whether they entered a nearby house.
