Man killed in Friday shootout identified as KC teen

Kansas City police today identified a man killed in a shootout Friday afternoon near 31st Street and Prospect Avenue as Tyler R. Creal, 19, of Kansas City.

Witnesses saw Creal chasing two other men through a strip mall parking lot while shooting at them. The other men were also shooting at the victim, police said. Police were investigating whether an attempted armed robbery kicked off the gun battle.

Two shooting victims showed up later at area hospitals with non life-threatening wounds. Police were still investigating whether those men were involved in the shootout.
