Authorities have released the name of an 82-year-old Wichita woman who died Monday in a two-car wreck about 2 miles north of Joplin.

Ida M. Wall was driving a car that failed to yield at the intersection of Missouri 96 and Missouri 43 and was struck in the side by an oncoming pickup, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri Highway Patrol. The accident was reported at 11:30 a.m.

A passenger in the car, 87-year-old Earl H. Wall, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the patrol reported. A 37-year-old Joplin man driving the pickup sustained minor injuries.

All were wearing seatbelts.
